My Top Travel Must-Haves!

Summer is officially here! Traveling is one of my passions which is why I have designed my entire business to fit my anytime, anywhere lifestyle !

Traveling is my happy place and changing up my routine helps me be more creative, and open to new ideas and ways of doing things. It is an essential part of my business and my joy in life.

That said, I am just as organized with my travels as with my business! Here are a few of my favorite things that are “must-haves” for me - starting with the techy stuff first!

iClever Bluetooth Foldable Keyboard ($53)
This is a game-changer, not only for travel, but for anytime you need an awesome, compact keyboard for typing long messages or taking notes. I take it on every trip, and even when I’m at the salon getting my hair braided for hours . Connects to multiple devices via bluetooth.

Computer Essential Bag - Attaches to Airline Seat and Car Pocket ($29)

Another game-changer! This goes with me on EVERY trip, and also EVERY visit to the braiding salon. I love how it keeps my essentials (tablet, phone, reading glasses, headphones, pens, chargers) all in one slim, compact design that even attaches to the back of the airline seat in front of you. At the salon, this becomes my “mobile office.” On trips, no more digging through my purse or carry-on for my electronic essentials.

Now for the non-techy stuff!

Cadence Travel Containers

Can you say LEAK-PROOF??? These are legit. I just took them on a recent Detroit-Chicago 5-day trip with my sister and was totally impressed! They are magnetic as well so they stick together.

I never check a bag unless I am traveling over 5 days. This means my toiletries have to adhere to the TSA rules and everything must be 3.4oz or less, and fit into one quart-sized bag. These little containers did the trick. You can build-your-own and select the colors, tiles, and words or logos of your choice. They hold just over ½ ounce each, which honestly is more than enough. I took a collection of six on my trip, and actually had product left over when I got home. Great for travel, the gym, day trips, etc. It helps that they’re super-cute too!

Collapsible Water Bottle ($35) and Nalgene Water Bottle ($14)

Why two water bottles? I drink A LOT of water, especially when I travel, and I also bring my own protein powder to add to fresh juice or smoothies. I don’t like to mix these two! Both of these bottles are completely LEAK-PROOF and are super convenient. The collapsible one (22oz) is compact and lightweight and has a wide-mouth for easy refilling and adding ice. The Nalgene one (16oz) also has a wide-mouth so it is really easy for me to add my powders to fresh juice or smoothies.

Lug Trolley and Mini Trolley Toiletry/Cosmetic Case (from $89)

These are incredibly well designed toiletry cases. I have used Lug products for years and am impressed with the quality of construction and durability. I used the Mini Trolley on my recent trip (I put the TSA-compliant bag inside of it since I was using a carry-on only) and was able to keep all my stuff organized, neat, and together. They come in a variety of cute colors as well!

And finally, a good book. I am hooked on audio books and love to listen when I travel, or even working out or driving. I especially like the ones where the author reads their own work. I am listening to Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing, by Bronnie Ware. It’s an international best-seller and full of so much insight and truth that is never too late to apply. I am really enjoying and highly recommend this book.

Have fun this summer! If you’re traveling by air, remember to Keep Calm and Fly On! Thank you to my flight attendant daughter Kamaal for this luggage tag - my favorite!
